Both factions have hired some mercenaries to reinforce their power during the conflict. Both factions are clamoring for the interests of the inhabitants, but both have shown their lack of compassion, hostility, greed, and a general disregard for the welfare of the people.
The government has recently collapsed, leaving two factions in control: the UFLL, United Front of Liberation, led by Addi Mbantuwe, leader of the opposition and the APR, Alliance for Popular Resistance, led by Oliver Tambossa. Far Cry 2 takes place in a small Central African state mired in civil war.
